The theme song from "Deliverance" is a pretty good idea but I was thinking along the lines of something more suitably farcical like a Boots Randolph sax skitter. Kind of like Benny Hill meets Hee Haw.

Dirk, that NASCAR jump suit is a great idea.

Now, if there was some way to work in the theme song from "Deliverance" into this riff...

I'll give you context....check out the National Debt Clock and then if your head don't spin off, we'll discuss a National Lie clock and the members of Congress can wear NASCAR Jump suits with their various donor contexts emblazoned in patches and we can have races between a National Lie clock and the National Debt clock.

The post above from M. Thomas and the comments at the OCR blog are so bizarre that it is almost like a parody of the hysterical feigned outrage that is so common among partisans these days.

Shall we wait, say 40 years, to criticize the government, or will that still be a "punch in the gut to those still grieving loved ones"?

Must contextual balance be provided in every article criticizing the government? I noticed no contextual balance offered whenever opportunistic politicians exploited 9/11 for their own purposes, leading America into senseless wars and crippling debt.

It is excellent articles like this one that makes it worthwhile to subscribe to the Future of Freedom Foundation's Freedom Daily.

Well written. However, it is regrettable that others took it to use as a punch in the gut to those still grieving loved ones, and to take ill timed potshots at government without contextual balance.

Your piece is excellent. The use of it in the Register was sleazy.

The best demonstration of the Bait and Switch of the last election.....they seem to be getting easier for the State to pull off all the time....but the ease with which this new Administration and their Change dogma has slid into the pilots seat of the last Administration is highly illuminating.

The office of the Executive is even more lucrative than Congress. It has become so as a result of the weakening of the Separation of Powers that has attended the War As Our Abiding Profession doctrine of the Executive. The various security stratagems cooked up by the Sunbeams For the Unitary Executive during the last Administration have been fully embraced by the current one because they are the Get Out Of Jail Free Card and the hammer which insures liberal payout to members of the Executive once they have enjoyed their 4-8 years in the Imperial Honeypot.

The only time one sees any sideways mention of investigation or prosecution is when the Executive needs a diversion and then the perfidious Bushies are trotted out for a little spitball action which draws Torquecheney to the talk shows and everyone has a good laugh before its back to bidness in the longest running Bunko Operation in the history of Organized Plunder.
